CUSTOM FAB WORK ON THE JIMSTER 1!

Jimster 1  (page 1 of 1)                                                  Owner:  Jim Steinkoetter

A bike with a scorchin' list of components and lots of custom ideas that should come together to be a real pleaser.  The guys at Karg's Hot Rod Service have been commissioned to create some custom features for this particular bike.  A few of which include: shaping the front and rear fenders, Oil tank sculpting,   fender mounted streamline break-light housing, and a custom fabricated dash panel with ghost mounted speedometer.

Jim's Bike shortly after arriving at the shop.  This bike will be armed with Ceriani Forks, Daytec Chassis, Jim's 6 speed transmission,  West Coast Fenders, Performance Machine Calipers, and a Custom Rotor Design (which by the way isn't in any of these pics so far).

Space-age technology, "black electrical tape", was used to mark the fenders for trimming.

The seat will be supported to keep it off the rear fender while  the suspension does it's job.

The contoured tail light fairing is taking shape.

Side view shows the character of the bike taking shape. Fender mods, tail light, and seat base complete.

Here you can see the tube that will conceal the fork wiring  A fillet was also added to the frame so the tank would set down seamlessly.

The speedometer and fuel filler cap set in the raised tank spine.

Custom tail light housing is completed after we modified an existing lens to fit the shape we created.

This first shot is of a plate we doubled up to match some of the other custom aspects of the bike.  Bam! a kick stand.

We welded a mount to the headlight that was born for this bike and added some LED's to the top that Jim so tastefully requested.

Here's a shot from a few paces back so you can see the progress.

Hand grips and mirrors added to check the look and fit.
This second picture is the one Donnie sent in with his Monster Garage application.

The Jimster has left the building for paint.  When it returns we'll show you more.

Here's a sneak peak of the paint scheme.  Donnie is predicting this bike will make the magazines.  Stay tuned for more completion photos.
